These resources were created in partnership with Penrith Town Council as part of their Penrith In Bloom project.
Here are some simple ideas to spark interest, joy and fun. These ideas are designed to help us get creative and encourage your children to play in nature, they may extend these ideas or come up with better ones, lets celebrate that!

Nature Connection is important because our brains and our bodies were shaped by being in nature for generations, so it is vital to our development and wellbeing. For example research shows children who spend time outside reduce the risk of shortsightedness and infections. Also caring for the nature around us is one of the roots to developing empathy a critical social skill.
This is a community project, so help us stay connected by posting and sharing on social media your creations. Stomping Ground and Penrith in Bloom will be on facebook sharing ideas and photos (just take photos of hands if faces are a problem) and we hope to see Penrith playing outdoors, enjoying our brilliant green spaces.
